Has Solar Energy Arrived?



We have been waiting for the sun to give its power to the grid and its time may now be here.

As long as the costs are so high that the BEST selling point is that it would pay for itself in "ten to twelve years" it's not going to be viewed as viable by the general populace.

Here in Phoenix, Arizona, the largest installation of panels is on the new convention center - 1/3 of the roof is covered - and it is only going to offset about 1/10 of the power requirements.

Until and unless the habits of the consumer are changed, electricity is going to continue to be a problem.

Fossil fuels are subsidized today. If we remove the subsidies from the equation, photovoltaic technology competes with fossil fuels today!
