How Low Can They Go?

Congress has set a new record. The approval rating for congress sunk to 9%. Even President Bush scored higher with 32%. The Democratic led congress is the worst in the history of polling and yet people are still willing to vote back in incumbents and more Democrats. I find this astounding that people will request even more of a really bad thing. Perhaps the old saying that "if it taste good it is probably bad for you" is playing out in reverse. If it tastes bad it will probably be good for you.

I don't think this will pan out in politics. Usually if someone is a bad decision maker they usually stay that way. Few are willing to invest more time and effort into actually improving themselves. Besides, why improve when you are given the job anyway. Why improve when you must already be great or they wouldn't have voted you into office. You don't want to feed these ego-maniacs. There god attitudes and superior then thou condescending tones will only worsen with an increased time in public office.

We need to clear the whole bunch out and start over. Let's ignore the party insignia after the name and vote out all incumbents. Perhaps a clean sweep would wake up the rest of the congress.

There's an old Texas expression that goes, "Lower than a snakes belly in a wagon rut"...

Or the old "Whale poop", thing too, it's low as ya go, bottom of the ocean, and Congress is not too far away...

I totally agree with you. We should vote for the new person every election, no matter what the election is for. A lot of people agree with this except for their congressman, their mayor, their dogcatcher. I believe that even used car salesmen have a higher rating. The Demos promised too much that they couldn't deliver.
