XP Is Being Phased(forced) Out

You may still be able to buy a copy for a few more months but the rare working operating system known as XP is being tossed aside for Vista and its soon to be upgrade Windows 7. We can only hope that this future edition will actually function for the majority of us.

I can still remember back to the days of DOS. It was an awkward but exciting time in the dawn of the computer era. Slowly over the years operating systems came and went. Many flopped and gave me fits.

Finally, I get an operating system that I don't have to reboot every couple of hours. Finally, one that I can actually multi-task on. I have had uncountable numbers of windows open and working and still didn't crash.

Microsoft finally got something right and now they want me to change. Could they get it right again?

12 Million Bees or Obama Supporters

All is going to turn out well in Canada but this reminded me of the current political season. The Article talked about how the truck over turned on the freeway releasing the bees from the 330 hives on board. I immediately associated this with the many issues that would have derailed a normal candidate but not Obama.

Every time a major obstacle pops up in front of Obama, like an over turned truck the bees swarm out and you forget about the truck part. They use biting words like racism to drive away what would be fair game for any other candidate.

When will the seriousness come back into the election cycle? I know I was getting pretty tired of all the campaigning during the primaries. Come September the Candidates will be officially declared and the race will go into full swing. Will we then be able to criticize the candidates with out the killer bees?

Schwarzenegger is Against Drilling

Schwarzenegger is half right about not lowering fuel prices immediately. Just making the announcement isn't enough. You have got to take action for real change to occur. As soon as speculators see action the game will be up. Shortly, probably weeks after, you will see fuel prices drop. Talk isn't going to be enough.

Schwarzenegger doesn't like the idea of drilling. His opposition is due to his Global Warming beliefs. He has similar beliefs to McCain in this area, but McCain understands how important oil is to the success of this nation. Pandering? Maybe.

Everyone is acting like Arnold Schwarzenegger has said something important. He is from California. You couldn't swing a dead chicken without hitting several enviro loons. Nothing like being well connected to your constituents.

Barack Obama on Budget & Economy

  • Can't do anything at home with $12 billion a month on Iraq. (Feb 2008)
  • Protect consumers with Credit Card Bill of Rights. (Feb 2008)
  • More accountability in subprime mortgages. (Feb 2008)
  • Bush stimulus plan leaves out seniors & unemployed. (Jan 2008)
  • Voted against limiting credit to 30%, because 30% too high. (Jan 2008)
  • Account for every single dollar for new proposed programs. (Jan 2008)
  • Help the homeowners actually living in their homes. (Jan 2008)
  • Bankruptcy bill pushed by banks &. (Jan 2008)
  • Lack of an energy policy is a financial burden. (Jan 2008)
  • Bush & GOP dug budget hole; need years to dig out. (Dec 2007)
  • Save $150 billion in tax cuts for people who don't need them. (Dec 2007)
  • Take China "to the mat" about currency manipulation. (Dec 2007)
  • Rejects free market vision of government. (Oct 2007)
  • Regulate financial instruments to protect home mortgages. (Aug 2007)
  • Government regulation needed for when markets fail. (Aug 2007)
  • Return to PayGo: compensate for all new spending. (Oct 2006)
  • Bush's economic policies are not working. (May 2004)
  • Supports federal programs to protect rural economy. (May 2004)
  • Voted NO on paying down federal debt by rating programs' effectiveness. (Mar 2007)
  • Voted NO on $40B in reduced federal overall spending. (Dec 2005)
  • Get minorities into home ownership & global marketplace. (Jan 2001)
  • Require full disclosure about subprime mortgages. (Dec 2007)

Surprise, I actually agree with some of these policies. I don't believe Obama is 100% wrong, only 90%. Even if he has a few of these right, I can't vote for a candidate that has so much of everything else wrong.

The first one on this list is a Democratic talking point that is wrong. About 70% of this money is going to Americans. It is paying American soldiers, contractors and suppliers. So if we remove the 70% we can fairly discuss the $3.6B. The American Congress blows through TRILLIONS of dollars a year. It wastes billions of dollars on lame projects like the Bridge to Nowhere and such. Feel free to look at the multi-billion dollar list of Pork for 2007.

The Bush Stimulus Plan was a tax rebate to tax payers. If you didn't pay taxes you probably didn't get a rebate. It makes sense to give people back their own money. This is not a wealth redistribution plan.

I am simply not going to mention all the government get in the way of freedoms programs suggested by the bulk of this list. If people make good or bad decisions then they need to accept the consequences. The government doesn't need to show up with fist fulls of my money and spread it around.

I have said it many times that if you can make the case for a good cause generous Americans will donate money. It doesn't matter where in the world it is needed Americans will help. The government doesn't need to hold up its citizens and take money.

The one other line item above that really ticks me off is the unwillingness to access current government programs and eliminate those who are failing. Ronald Reagan once said, "The closest thing to eternal life is a government program." That has got to stop.

Can We Trust Him?

I live in a world where a person is judged by their word. Either you can be trusted or you can't. Those who know me would declare me trustworthy.

I want the same for anyone who would represent me or my country.

If you have questions perhaps others do as well. Help more people see this ad by donating here.

  • Sponsored aid bill to avert humanitarian crisis in Congo. (Dec 2005)

Obama is willing to meet and negotiate with anyone, even terrorists. This gross departure from American policy will endanger this nation and increase our risk. We are no longer dealing with countries and their differences but ideals without boundaries or countries.

There is no such thing as a neutral site when dealing with a terrorist organization. The terrorists main demand is our death. How do you comprimise or negotiate out of this demand?

The jury is still out on China. They have westernized some but this does not make them necessarily our friends. They have shipped over hundreds of products that could be leathal. This doesn't sound like something a friend would do. Wouldn't you make extra sure it was right before you send it to your friend? Perhaps the evidence leads to an opposing conclusion.

Obama has never visited any of our allies. He has visited Africa and the Middle East but he has never once visited England, France, Italy, ....... What makes him so sure he can gain favor with these nations?

The one that really got me is "Invest in our relationship with Mexico". We our housing a major percentage of their people and we are providing 40% of the capital that runs the nation. How much more invested do we need to get? I would think a little seperation would be good about now.

Barack Obama doesn't have a clue about foreign policy. To think differently only increases our chances for world failure.

Exclusive: Barack Obama and the Blustery Day

Satire by Shawn Goodwin

Children's stories. They lift up dampened spirits and create flights of fancy for both the young and the young at heart.Everyone needs an escape from reality once in a while, even the most powerful men and women in the free world.
Of course, it is expected that these movers and shakers would take a trip to Fantasy Island when they were in the privacy of their own homes. To think that potential members of a possible Presidential administration would turn to a children's book to make policy decisions is about as wise as giving Dennis Kucinich our nuclear launch codes. So, imagine the surprise the nation (and the world) received when seeing this story from the Telegraph:

Richard Danzig, who served as Navy Secretary under President Clinton and is tipped to become National Security Adviser in an Obama White House, told a major foreign policy conference in Washington that the future of U.S. strategy in the war on terrorism should follow a lesson from the pages of Winnie the Pooh, which can be shortened to: if it is causing you too much pain, try something else.
Mr. Danzig told the Centre for New American Security: "Winnie the Pooh seems to me to be a fundamental text on national security."
Winnie the Pooh?Really? All this time idiots and dolts like Washington, Lincoln, and Roosevelt wasted their lives reading Thomas Paine's Common Sense and Sun Tzu's The Art of War? If only Barack Obama had been born earlier, he could have steered these mediocre men to true greatness.

Imagine the impact that Pooh Diplomacy would have on our nation:

1776 - George Washington soundly defeats the British in the Battle of New York, after ordering his troops to avoid cannon fire by bouncing around like Tigger.

1928 - Presidential candidate Herbert Hoover is swept into office with the slogan, "A chicken in every hunny pot, and a house in every tree."

1976 - President Jimmy Carter becomes the most popular chief executive in American history after his "malaise speech" wins over the Eeyore demographic.

While Danzig is at it, he might as well throw some other beloved children's favorites into policy, too. Dr. Seuss would be a good place to start."Horton Hears A Who" can be mildly modified into "Horton Hears Iranian Bombers Overhead," because Pooh Diplomacy coddles our enemies instead of engaging them.
Note to Danzig: coddling our enemies will not endear them to America. It will give them an opportunity to strike.

Right Turn - Your Turn: Where's the restroom?

Right Turn - Your Turn: Where's the restroom?

Today's society is being hit hard by a new reality which for conservative Christians are particularly impacted and on a regular basis. No longer is the question "Where's the restroom?" just a phrase you try to be prepared to ask in whatever language necessary to get around on your vacation. It is a phrase fundamental to determining your own local facilities because of the actions of the GLBT groups (this refers to Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender groups).

It is a phrase that frightens and sends red flags up, when considering the ramifications of recent laws and political activism. Read this to get some idea of what our young people face on college campuses, and even in your own elementary schools. It hit home for me when I read just this one sentence from that article stating, "An article in the New York Times revealed how parents of children with gender confusion are now being encouraged to dress their children as members of the opposite sex. At the Park Day School in Oakland [Calif.], teachers . . . are urged to line up students by sneaker color rather than by gender.” What type of life is that? Instead of saying "I'm a girl", you say "I'm pink and purple
sneaker?"

Our current state of society is quickly declining. Any hateful or evil act you can think of, and those you may never imagine are looking for openings. They want to thrust their way of life and degenerate acts on the rest of us. As you ponder whether or not to vote in the next election remember these groups will show up in force and may become the majority at the polls if your not there. Don't give them opportunity to take your rights from you and change our nation forever.

  • Rated 0% by the NRLC, indicating a pro-choice stance. (Dec 2006)

  • Ensure access to and funding for contraception. (Feb 2007)

If this is one of your key issues to go to the polls, Obama's position is very clear. He is a pro-Death candidate who has no problem taking your child and secretly doing what ever they deem fit. Parental rights are of no consequence to this candidate and life appears to have little value.

There is interesting contrast in his positions. Woman can decide to be a mother or not and how to abort the baby even if they choose the gruesome procedure called partial birth abortion. Yet, by contrast, if that same woman is a parent she can't help her child through knowledge if an abortion is sought by her minor daughter.

How can Pro-Choice or Pro-Life compromise? Death is pretty final and that is the heart of the problem. It's not like you can undo it in a couple of months when calmer heads prevail.

This is the first post of many exposing the wrong positions taken by Barack Obama. This is the LAST person we should elect as President. His position on abortion clearly demonstrates that.

Democrats Threaten Big Oil

The democrats let the cat out of the bag. U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., during a grilling of oil executives let the beans spill, "This liberal will be about socializing …Would be about, basically, taking over, and the government running all of your companies. …" That has got to be one of the scariest sentences uttered by a representative of the United States of America. Can you think of anything the government does well?

Social Security is such a great program that the congress has robbed it of every dollar and is now on the brink of failure.

Medicare is another program fleeced by the congress and failing fast.

Public education has put our children below world standards in almost every area of academia.

No matter what program you look at you see the failure of government in action or on the brink. Any sane individual wouldn't want congress any where near our key energy infrastructure. Congress has done everything it can to hamstring this industry and now wants to blame the industry for its failure.

The answer is quite simple and the American people are starting to shout it out.
DRILL NOW! Pass laws to squelch the environmentalists.
DRILL NOW! Pass laws that accelerate refinery construction.
DRILL NOW! Open public land to oil development.

Dems want control over U.S. oil flow

Drilling is the Answer!

More and more Americans agree that drilling is the answer. A new survey is out and 67% are demanding drilling. Will the Congress wake up and embrace the answer?
I keep hearing about the speculators driving up the price. The speculators are given reason when we won't go after the oil we have. When we constantly choose to go to the most volatile points on the planet to buy oil. The oil market will go down dramatically the day the congress approves the use of American oil. It will go down again when we first take advantage of this change. It will also fall when we build the first new refinery.
The price of oil and the price to America will change for the better when congress stops holding up America.

Americans agree on answer to gas prices: Drill now

Why is Murtha Still in Office?

Finally, Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani has had all charges dismissed. What a horrible and completely ridiculous chain of events. One by one each man has been freed after persecution for crimes they never committed. Eight Marines were charged in a case of self defense on the battle field.
When a roadside bomb exploded and then an ambush of gun fire broke out, the Marines did what they do best, take it to the enemy. The enemy had placed themselves in among civilians to use them as a shield or pawn in their battle. The Marines killed 15 civilians and the aggressors before it ended.
These are the cases that get our boys killed. The next group who comes upon a similar situation may choose to hesitate and perhaps die instead of destroying the enemy. I don't know how many time this scene had played out in Iraq, but if even one soldier is found to have lost their life for this reason, Murtha should be brought up on charges.
Murtha out right lied and ruined the lives of these fine soldiers and perhaps many more on the field of battle. When will America oust this horrible man? Who wishes to be represented by one such as this? The 12th district of Pennsylvania must be proud of there representative. Stand up people and seek his removal.

Supreme Failure

Once again the Supreme Court demonstrates its liberal failings and its willingness to depart from it constitutional duties. The basic duty of the Supreme Court is to use the constitution and over 200 years of legal precedence to determine the legality of anything brought before it. In fairness all arguments brought before it should be well versed in law established in US courts. Yet, we see foreign law and tendencies being used as arguments.
The Court is bound under oath to seek out Constitution and American law as the soul source of its decision. It is not to use whim or fancy nor any desire of the heart as a remedy to judgment. Yet, we see just that being used in this case.
Precedence has clearly been established in the 1950 case Johnson v. Eisentrager, in which the Court ruled that non-citizen enemies had no access to U.S. courts in wartime and that when captured and imprisoned abroad, they had no right to a writ of habeas corpus in a U.S. court.

While those of us who understand the consequences of law as well as the consequences of verdict find this unbelievable the more liberal "Not My Fault" crowd are cheering in the streets. They see this as a slam against the much hated Bush and have no clear understanding of the consequences that will now come to this nation. There single minded hate will surely destroy the great nation I love.

Ponder this, many of the nations of those who are held at Gitmo don't want them back. If our court, under the rules of habeas corpus, if they must be released then the US would be their place of freedom. Are you willing to have the hardened of Gitmo released on downtown America and fully freed to carry out the actions of their heart? The court is about to fulfill the dreams of the terrorists and yet the left cheers.

I Like These Bugs

Usually I am looking for ways to get rid of bugs. Fortunately these aren't as annoying as the common house fly. What would you think of a genetically altered bug that excretes crude oil. As long as you keep them happily fed they will produce this much sought resource. Can you imagine eliminating the need to drill for oil with such a bug.
It doesn't sound quite as exciting when you realize you will be filling your tank with bug crap. The nice part is these guys don't need to eat food crops to give us this much needed fluid.

Scientists find bugs that eat waste and excrete petrol

As great as this news is, how come I had to read it in a foreign paper? It seems that our media is failing to report on the many great energy alternatives that our waiting in the wings. The goal is to promote the gloom and doom and not give America hope as we go into the political season. This one is in our own backyard. They have NO excuse.

Suicides Become Part of Politics

Senator Barack Obama has taken to exploiting our troops to new lows. The NYT and other media outlets have been making a big splash about the recent up ticks in suicides among our troops. They seem to want to push the numbers before the American people without context but plenty of bias.
Suicide is a serious issue both for the military and for those of us at home. It is not limited to just military personal but goes on to effect every area of society. It is bias that leads you to believe that being in the military is the only reason for the suicides. If the same demographic is used as a comparison out of civilian population we might have other reasons for this change.
The fact is that the civilian population has shown an up tick as well only greater. How come this isn't included in those reports people are writing? Is it lazy journalism or bias?

Read this article By Thomas Sowell and notice other bias.

At Least They're Doing Something

Bush put out an executive order over the weekend that forces employers who do work for the government to verify that those doing the work are legal workers in the USA. It directs employers to use the E-Verify system to check for Matching Social Security Numbers and Names.

Regular readers can probably remember the many times I have written on this subject. As unemployment is starting to rise due to the constantly increasing cost of energy we are finally making moves to open up our employer rolls.

I don't buy the line "They are here to do jobs Americans wont do". The real issue is "They are here to do jobs we wont pay a decent wage to get done". You will also find vast numbers taking jobs that Americans would love to have.

Arizona has lead the way in dealing with this very issue. Some friends have told me how much quieter it is down there. Before the law they were feeling over run and often unemployed. Now there is opportunities for American citizens.

Most of the nation is going through a job crisis for high schoolers and college aged young workers looking for work to supplement their summer. This executive order if broadened to a nation wide policy would help employ our young citizens and boost our nation. Now would be a good time to tell your representatives to pass real immigration reform. Reform that restores America back to Americans.

You May Be A Racist

I really could care less about the color, race, and gender of a leader, president or other. The key is leading and leading in a direction that I am willing to follow. I will not follow those who choose to pander to liberal, globalist, free-sex, no-moral direction thinking. I have very concrete beliefs and I am looking for someone who will deliver on these beliefs.
  • Marriage is between one man and one woman with a commitment to endure for a life-time.
  • You are either Pro-Life or Pro-Death that is your Choice.
  • Taxes need to be limited to the lowest possible level that provides essential government mandates.
  • The Death penalty is for people who choose to do horrible things. If you get 50 years to life for your deeds, then the death penalty is for you.
  • The key to good government is to promote productivity and efficiency in the private sector.
  • It is not the job of government to distribute wealth.
  • Everyone has the right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. No guarantees of catching it.
  • Anyone who works deserves the full reward for their efforts.
  • Defense should be part of every person and nations planning and preparation.
  • We need to find long-term solutions not short-term feel good political fixes.
  • English should be the official language of all business in America. You can talk in any language you want, but when conducting business, it is in English.
  • There is no shame in our religious beginnings and schools should teach this part of history.
  • The American border should be secure. The walls should be high and well defended. We, the American People, have the right to decide who we let in.
  • Global Climate change has happened before without our medaling. It will happen again.
  • We will use our own energy resources while striving to find alternatives.
  • We support building more nuclear power plants to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
  • We should build more oil refineries in America to lower the cost of gas and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. (I suggested Coos Bay.)
  • The First Amendment forbids government from making laws that infringe on religion. It does not remove religion from anything under the government.
  • We reject the banning of prayer.
  • We need to take terrorist threats more seriously and take steps to eliminate those who are intent on carrying out such acts.

These are the basic tenants that I embrace whole heartedly without reservation. Find me a candidate of any color, race, sex or religion who will carry the banner for these items, and I will follow them. Any candidate who fails in so much as one of these areas can expect my ridicule. I will boldly proclaim each of these and if it makes me a ‘racist’ then so be it.

Updated: Abortion is choosing death for someone who has done nothing to deserve such punishment. The Death Penalty is for someone who chooses to do the most heinous acts and deserves such punishment.

Chernobyl at Sea

Russia is starting to build floating nuclear reactors. It sounds like a great idea. Quickly deliver power to new or damaged areas. Dropping anchor off the shore of Burma and getting water purification and emergency power could have saved lives. Is it worth the risk?

I don't see any measure of security being brought to bare. This is a major accident waiting to happen. We have major terrorist organizations looking for this very item. Currently all the nuclear reactors at sea are in battle ships. I may be wrong but it would be a little easier to take this ship then one of those.

Meglev is Coming

Meglev technology has been applied to many different things but here is an application that is needed.
The manufacturers of this wind turbine are bold enough to claim 500 years of service due to the lack of wear to the parts. This reduced friction allows these wind turbines to be functional on less then half the speed of wind flow. The loss of energy robbing friction also will double their performance.
If they can net half of what they claim the future of wind energy looks very bright indeed.

NIMBYs Have Met Their Match

The NIMBYs - Not In My Back Yard crowd have tried to keep wind farms out of Martha's Vineyard. They are the same crowd who complains about the environment but will not lift a finger to resolve the problem.

I do find it rather Ironic that we can't drill for oil off shore on a platform but we can do this. The foot print is about the same but the actual functional energy over the long haul will be less. Wind is green but not always reliable.

At $120+ per barrel for oil we are going to see a lot of alternatives come to the market place. Maybe we are finally going to take this seriously.

It’s All Congresses Fault

I keep hearing about how bad things are in America, most of the time that is followed by a rant about Bush and his policies. Let me pause right here and say that I am no Bush fan. I can list off tons of reasons he has been bad for America, but he really isn't the problem. No matter how much he wants to do something he has no ability to set a single policy in motion. He has no ability to spend a dollar of tax payer money. These acts all come under the authority of congress.

If Bush didn’t do it, then how did we get where we are. We should recognize that Bush has a strong bully pulpit. He can call a press conference any time day or night and they will show up. The media is so driven for material to fill the 24 hour news coverage that no matter what he has to say it will be carried live somewhere. The world and the people of the United States will be fully aware of whatever he wants to say. Yet, it is all talk. That’s right nothing but hot air and not one single word changed the direction of this nation. It is all propaganda and posturing but if he can strike a chord with Americans, we may yet see change.

Change comes from congress. The house and the senate have all the say when it comes to the direction of this nation. They also have the key to the vault that will pay for whatever this nation wishes to spend its money on. The president can only ask but congress can act.

Let me tell you how this works because it isn’t a simple process. You see we citizens have to get motivated enough to call or write our representatives in Washington DC and tell them we want a change in how America does business. We as a group or Lobby have to convince them to write a bill and take it before their chamber asking for this change. The writing of this so called good idea usually takes a room full of lawyers and investigators to turn out a ream of paper describing in detail the idea and how it will work or solve the problem. This bill then gets referred to a committee where it may get a hearing. If it gets a hearing, they will attempt to hammer out details of the pros and cons and then they will vote to send it back to the chamber it was referred from for a vote.

If it makes it out of committee the leader of the chamber it is before, may or may not schedule it for open debate before the chamber. All the present members by now have heard about this bill and they can weigh in for or against it. Someone has to then push a motion to close debate. If they vote to close debate then someone has to push a motion to actually vote on the thing. If it actually is put up for a vote it still needs better than 50% to move forward. After all that energy and effort it still doesn’t mean a thing. It now has to be sponsored and introduced in the other chamber and then the whole thing happens again.

The next chamber gets their shot at it much the same way as the first. If the bill makes it past this chamber with a better then 50% approval it still has some major hurdles to overcome. It still has to go before a committee that takes the version passed by both chambers and reconciles them to one another. By now the bill is well worn and has various attachments and compromises that may have nothing to do with the idea that started the whole process.

Being fully reconciled and approved by congress it is now brought to the desk of the president. If the bill passed through congress with a two-thirds or more majority from congress the president can choose to simply let it pass into law or sign it. He really has little say at this point. If the bill only cleared the congress by 50% he has some say on whether or not it becomes law. That say is known as the Veto. Simply put the president only has power over anything that comes through congress with more than 50% approval and less than 66% approval. Only at this moment can he say yes or no and make it law.

The simple fact is that if congress doesn’t act nothing happens. I bet you been blaming the president for the problems we are suffering. If you really want to solve the problem, start by writing your representative in congress. Nothing is going to change unless you get the ball rolling.

Oh, and if you think one of the candidates for president is going to change anything, they have been part of the problem for years. All three are from the congress.

Obama Plans to Destroy Our Military

Those are his words, from his mouth. Perhaps seeing them in type will help:

Thanks so much for the Caucus4Priorities, for the great work you've been doing. As president, I will end misguided defense policies and stand with Caucus4Priorities in fighting special interests in Washington.

First, I'll stop spending $9 billion a month in Iraq. I'm the only major candidate who opposed this war from the beginning. And as president I will end it.

Second, I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending.

I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems.

I will not weaponize space.

I will slow our development of future combat systems. And I will institute an independent "Defense Priorities Board" to ensure that the Quadrennial Defense Review is not used to justify unnecessary spending.

Third, I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal, I will not develop new nuclear weapons; I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material; and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair-trigger alert, and to achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenals.

Do you think the enemy is satisfied with their current capability and technology? How can a candidate for president talk national security and have this plan for action? We should be doing everything we can to stay ahead of any and everyone who may come against us.

We won the Cold War by achieving above and beyond what the Russians could. They couldn't keep up and collapsed their nation trying. This competition only made the USA stronger. Our ability to go from idea to production in a free market system blows away government centered thought.

We can not afford a president this short sighted. We cannot afford to elect Obama.
